Looking for My Hero Animal Rescue Foundation is now fully functional and already working on saving the lives of homeless animals throughout the area.

We are very pleased to be able to communicate with the adopting public via the Internet so that the wonderful animals which we showcase can be shared with all of you.  Looking for My Hero is a new concept in animal rescue organizations.  We hope to fill a very special niche in the process of placing homeless shelter animals into new loving homes.  You might call us a Communications Rescue Network and thus our daily publication is The Hero Network News.

We are an all volunteer group who have seen first-hand the gratifying results that can be accomplished when an animal shelter, and a rescue group can work together on saving a homeless animal from euthanasia.  We are the liaison between the shelters, the rescue groups and the adopting public.

Everyday we will be bringing you photos and stories about all types of animals who no longer have a family or home of their own.  Lost, abandoned, surrendered, neglected or abused loving creatures whose spirits somehow rise above all types of pain and go on to love humans again. But they unable to help themselves in these situations.  They are totally at the mercy of us.  It is up to us humans to be their advocates.

Throughout time there have been many articles written about the bond between humans and animals, and the correlation to a society’s growth as a culture, dependant on how the citizens of that society treat their animals.  Even though the homeless companion animal population has been reduced in the last fifty years, there are still five to ten million companion animals being killed each year.  It is the responsibility of the humans to reduce these euthanasia rates from by assisting in all areas of animal welfare.  Our organization hopes to help reduce the euthanasia rates by placing our efforts into teamwork structure, a network of people who all have the same goal and who know that they can make more progress toward that goal if they work together, share their information with the public and constantly keep looking for better methods with regard to the placement of homeless animals into homes.

Northern Nevada’s Newest Animal Rescue Organization is now on the Internet!

Together we can “change” the world

of homeless animals.

This is the name of our donation can program.  We are giving out empty donation cans that  you can drop your lose change into every night for the animals.  You may have already received one of these donation cans if you stopped by our booth at a recent community adoption event.  If not you can pick one up at one of several locations, and the list is growing all the time. Click on Support HERO page to find a location. Every time you return a can filled with change you will receive a gift from Looking for My Hero as an appreciation for your help.

HEROES

It takes HEROES of all kinds to help just one animal who is all alone in this world find a new family of their own.  It takes a network of HEROES, many, many people who lay their hands and their hearts on every animal that is saved.  We welcome all of you to become a HERO to an animal who must have human assistance in order to survive in this world.  Whatever type of HERO you would like to be, we welcome your help.
